    The alpusgender flag

Alpusgender is a xenogender connected to, influenced by, or comparable to Arctic foxes. An alpusgender person may identify as an Arctic fox or otherwise want to incorporate them into their identity. It is part of the vulpinigender subsystem. Those who are alpusgender are not necessarily otherkin or kingender.

It is similar to Arctic Foxgender, but is not specific about how the gender feels and behaves.

It was originally defined as "An Arctic fox (V. lagopus)-like gender, or a gender that is influenced or compared to Arctic foxes in some way."[1]

    History

Alpusgender was coined on June 21, 2020 by Tumblr user xeno-aligned.[2]

It was redefined by Fandom user Cilantrouble on February 20, 2021.[3]

It is unknown what the Vulpinigender Subsystem is, what gender system it's part of, and who created it. Said subsystem wasn't mentioned in the coining post and Alpusgender was actually coined as a subset of both Vulpinigender and Canisgender, rather than part of any gender system. It's also unknown whether or not this was confused for it being part of a gender system, rather than just being a subset of other genders.

    Flag

The alpusgender flag was designed December 6, 2020 by mogai-trender-sideblog on Tumblr. The flag features a fox paw and is intended to reflect the colors associated with the arctic fox.[4]
