Revision as of 05:08, 13 February 2021 by wikia:lgbta>MadechiClementine (In the comment section of "Caedsexual", someone asked if someone had coined a term for the inverse scenario. I decided to make term for people whose allosexuality is the result of trauma, to give them a term that describes their experience, especially since being traumatized can make people feel inadequate.)

    The Abasexual flag.

Abasexual (pronounced Ah-bah-sexual) is an orientation describing one who was once asexual, but due to trauma of either a sexual or non-sexual variety, has become allosexual. Its counterpart, an allosexual person whose trauma has caused them to become asexual, is caedsexual.

Abasexual is only to be used by those who have experienced or are currently experiencing trauma.

Abasexual people may be attracted to any gender. For instance, someone who is abasexual and gay was previously attracted to no one, but after one or more traumatic events, is now attracted to the same gender as themselves.

The romantic equivalent of abasexual is abaromantic.

    Word Origin

The prefix "aba" is derived from the Latin word abactius, meaning "stolen", to describe the feeling an abasexual individual may have that their orientation was stolen from them.
