Abandoe or abandigender is an aesthetigender in which ones gender feels similar to that of an abandoned house, parks, towns, castles, and other structures. It can feel dead or like genderlessness or of intimidating emptiness. It can also be related to the serene atmosphere and quietness within the abandoned area as well as dust floating around, like how it would be in an attic. It can also feel otherworldly, like a liminal space, but not always.
History and Flag
Abandoe was coined on June 1, 2019, by Tumblr user wavership. The flag was created at the same time by Tumblr user genderrose.[1][2]
The original definition only referred to abandoned houses and intimidating emptiness. FANDOM user Daccharine expanded onto the definition and created the two alternate flags on January 11, 2021.
