    zinniaro flag

Zinniaro is an identity on the aromantic spectrum where one loses romantic attraction towards an individual after acting on it, whether only once or a few times.

Zinniaro is related to a few other amative orientations, particularly frayromantic. It is distinct from this, however, as the zinniaro identity is not related to how well one knows one's partner, or one's level of emotional connection. The loss of attraction also doesn't turn into disgust, so it is also distinct from fearomantic. Nor is it hedoneromantic, as it is unrelated to the pleasure of the initial romantic encounter. Zinniaro is most similar to post rubor, but it isn't necessarily related to a level of excitement since the initial encounter may lack excitement as a priority.

The zinniaro identity can be fluid, flux, or both. For example, a zinniafluid individual might eventually find a partner with whom they don't lose romantic attraction after acting on it. Likewise, a zinniaflux individual might have periods of feeling zinniaromantic, or may regain romantic attraction to a partner after a significant amount of time has passed.

The sexual counterpart is zinniace, and this can be extended to all eriattraction types. It may be combined with other orientations such as hetero-zinniaro or demipan-zinniaro. The zinniaro identity is not exclusive to any group.

    History

The term zinniace was coined by Wiki user LilamJazeefa on October 10, 2021. Zinniaro was mentioned in the page for zinniace, but the page for the term itself was created by wiki user CrystalOwl95455 (now CrystalOwl) on November 15, 2021.

    Flag

The Zinniaro flag was created by wiki user CrystalOwl on January 3, 2023. The color orange has no specific meaning, but it was chosen for a reason. Many zinnias are pink (like the color of the zinniace flag), so the creator chose to use the color of a different type of zinnia for their zinniaro flag. Similar to the zinniace flag, the darkening of the color represents the fading of the attraction, and they white stripes may represent acting on the attraction, causing it to fade away.

    Etymology

The name is in reference to the zinnia flowering plant. Zinnias are annual plants, meaning they don't return after first year of planting, representing the loss of romantic attraction after a romantic encounter.
