Vultusexual (also known as vultu-attractional, vulturomantic or vultuplatonic) is a micro-label for people on the asexual spectrum who experience a "merging" or sense of blended attractions. For a vultusexual individual, two or more attractions (e.g. aesthetic and sensual attraction) may exhibit the same feelings, thoughts, reactions or emotions and therefore feel interchangeable/not removable from one another.

This can fall under the umbrella term Black Stripe Asexual and is an a-spec specific label. This should not be used to describe the merging of sexual attraction with other attractions. This term is a-spec specific because of the difficulty many a-spec individuals face identifying and distinguishing common allosexual attractional experiences.

    The Vultu-attractional flag

This is similar to quoiromantic, as vultusexual individuals may have confusion over what romantic attraction is (as the feeling may be interchangeable with other attractions). Some vultusexual people may also identify as quoiromantic.

    Vultusexual experiences may include:

    • the merging of two or more non-sexual attractions.
    • being unable to tell the difference between platonic, alterous and romantic attractions.
    • seeing platonic, romantic and QPR relationships are intertwined/interchangeable.
    • experiencing tactile/visual/physical attractions interchangeably.
    • seeing familial love as a type of romantic love, platonic love as a type of alterous love, etc.
    • experiencing any of the above some of the time.

    Flag

The Vultu-attractional flag is a five-striped flag, coloured black, white and pale blue. The two black stripes represent asexuality (to specify that this is an a-spec specific label), the two white stripes represent the merging of romantic and platonic attraction, and the blue stripe represents the merging of all other types of attraction.

    History

This term was coined on the 23rd of July, 2021, on AVEN (The Asexuality Visibility and Education Network) on the Black Stripe Asexual Hangout Thread [1] by user SleuthArt.
