Vanillagender is a gastrogender related to vanilla in some way. It may be related to the flavor, the plant, the extract, etc. This could mean a gender that is sugary, warm, and lightly floral; a gender that seems sweet but hides a bitterness within; a gentle, yet distinct and potent, gender; or any other definition that the user sees fit.
History
The actual term vanillagender has existed for awhile, but had no definite, clear, consistent, or findable definition, until its definition was officially coined by Tumblr user neopronouns on November 28, 2020.
The flag was coined a month later on December 27, 2020 by neopronouns; the alt flag was designed in February of 2021 by Patty Warren.

On the alternate vanillagender flag, the colours represent different shades of a vanilla pod, and the light tan represents vanilla ice cream. Because of this, vanillagender is not dissimilar to icecreamgender. In the center is a vanilla bean emblem.
