Uterus Didelphys, or Didelphic Uterus, is an CTF intersex variation affecting approximately 1 in 3,000 AFAB people, in which one has double uterus and two separate cervices, and possibly a double vagina as well.[1][2] Each uterus has a single horn and a single ovary. It is a congenital variation where the Müllerian ducts failed to fuse when in the womb.[3] People with the variation may be asymptomatic and unaware of having a double uterus, how they are more likely to experience severe menstrual pains and pain during sex.
Someone with this variation may be able to get pregnant, and may even be able to get pregnant in both uteruses. In the majority of pregnancy cases, the babies survive. However, they have a higher chance of premature birth.
