Touch-ambivalent is a term used by asensual and other asen-spec individuals to refer to the fact that they have mixed feelings towards touch and sensuality. Touch-ambivalence refers to anyone who does not fit into the categories of touch-favorable, indifferent, or repulsed. This could be for any number for reasons, common reasons being that one's feelings about sensuality change frequently, so they might be positive or indifferent one day and then repulsed the next. Their feelings on sensuality might also change based on the situation. For example, someone might be normally touch-indifferent, but if they're in a relationship that isn't primarily sensual and their partner is sensually attracted to them they might feel touch-favorable. The opposite might happen as well, someone could feel touch-favorable or indifferent normally, but if their partner is sensually attracted to them they might feel touch-repulsed.
Touch-ambivalence can also stem from a person not knowing if they're actually touch-favorable or if any desires to engage in sensual acts are simply based on the fact that they feel that people should want to be touched.
