Sigmabian is a microlabel for lesbian and describes a non-man who is exclusively attracted to non-men and chooses to reclaim and identify with the term "sigma (male)". A sigmabian generally values ambiversion, focus, inclusivity, and willpower, and may also identify as a bambi lesbian as sigmabians tend to prefer romantic aspects of a relationship to sexual aspects.
Flag
The sigmabian flag is a recolored version of the sunset lesbian flag and consists of seven stripes. The first three stripes are a gradient from a dark teal to Nile green. The first stripe stands for respecting non-binary lesbians and lesbians who use pronouns other than she/her. The second stripe stands for love and acceptance of butch lesbians. The third stripe stands for high estrogen levels due to engaging with women. The white stripe in the middle stands for lesbianism in general, but also for the peace and serenity that many sigmabians feel after finally labeling themselves correctly. The last three stripes are a gradient from a light blue-grey to a dark Prussian blue. The lightest stripe symbolizes the rejection of lesbophobia, especially at the hands of members of the LGBTQIA+ community who do not identify as lesbians. The following stripe stands for being aware of the position of the clit. For sigmabians who are more interested in romance, it can also signify a mutual understanding with their partner. The last stripe stands for a detachment from men, as the sigmabian label does not include men or attraction to men.
History
The term "sigmabian" was coined by users "Moka" and "Venti", who created the flag as well, on Discord in October 2021. Since then, it has spread to select communities of sigmabians on Instagram and Tik Tok.
