    The selfdxgender flag.
The selfdxgender flag without an emblem.

Selfdxgender is a neurogender that describes one who feels that one's gender/experience of gender is/has been affected in some way by being self-diagnosed with one or more forms of neurodivergence.

This term is exclusive to neurodivergent people who are, or have been, self-diagnosed in some form. It may be used in addition to identities associated with the neurodivergence one is self-diagnosed with.

This term only refers to the effect that the state of being self-diagnosed may have/have had on one's gender. One may feel that these effects are either temporary or permanent, or that one’s gender can only be understood in the context of one’s self diagnosis.

Being self-diagnosed may affect one's gender in many ways, including (but not limited to):

    • Being unable to be diagnosed/access treatment for one's neurodivergence and feeling that this affects/has affected one's gender in some form.
    • Being unable to talk to others about one's symptoms/one hiding one’s symptoms and feeling that this affects/has affected one's gender in some form.
    • Experiencing doubt/invalidation related to one's self-diagnosed neurodivergence and feeling that this affects/has affected one's gender in some form.
    • Finding it difficult to define one's gender/parts of one's gender and feeling that this is related in some form to one being self diagnosed/unsure of the exact nature of one's neurodivergence/unsure whether one experiences a certain form of neurodivergence.
