The seahorse dad flag by Jasper

"A Seahorse Dad (or Seahorse) is a trans/non-cis man (binary or otherwise) who desires to be pregnant or is pregnant. Any trans/non-cis man may identify as a seahorse dad whether or not the individual is currently pregnant or looking to be pregnant. Seahorse Dad extends further to when the child is born as well, making the term Seahorse Dad or Seahorse one that encapsules every stage of a trans/non-cis man's reproductive journey."

This term is for trans/cisn't men who wish to be pregnant or already are.

The term is not limited to only binary trans/cisn't parents and can be used by anyone who is cisn't and has the ability to get pregnant. The term is often used to describe someone who's already a parent and the child is born, but is being more inclusively expanded to anyone looking to be pregnant, themselves.

Feminine equivalent is Ribbon Eel Mom.

    Extra Info and Flag

"Seahorse on its own is niche, and not used often, and trans women didn't have a similar term until I coined one as far as I could find. The film "Seahorse" is a documentary made by a gay trans man and is worth a watch!" -jojohandholder on twitter.

The reason 'seahorse' is the animal used in this label is because male seahorses are actually the ones to give birth. Seahorses along with pipefishes are the only known animals where the male sex gives birth.

This flag has been reclaimed and repurposed from the Lunar Eclipse Exclusionists.

Another flag was designed on May 18, 2021, by Tumblr user lucky-leaf-clover named Jasper.[1]
