The Sarmalegender flag

Sarmalegender is a gastrogender that is related to Sarmale, a traditional dish from Romania consisting of cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and meat–typically pork–sometimes topped with sour cream.

A person with this gender typically feels "festive" and "comforting", with layers of depth and complexity.

This is not to be confused with ToltottKaposztaGender, which is another gastrogender that relates to the Hungarian variation of this stuffed cabbage dish. Although these two genders have a lot of similarities (notwithstanding that only one of them can have characteristics and moods relating to the "feel" of Paprika), they are typically seen as enemies of each other in the LGBTQIA+ space.

Pronouns

The typical pronouns for a sarmalegender person are: Sarmaley/Sarmalem/Sarmaleself.

Some individuals who identify as sarmalegendered may prefer other sets of pronouns however, such as They/Them.

Example:

John: Did you hear about Luca's transition?

Katie: Yes! Sarmaley announced that Sarmaley is Sarmalegender, right?

John: Indeed! I am so happy that Luca is comfortable with Sarmaleself.

Victoria: What's Sarmalegender?

Katie: It's a Xenogender that is shared by those people who identify with the warm and joyful experience of pork-stuffed cabbage from Romania! It can therefore not be easily contained by common words or ideas relating to binary gender.

Victoria: Oh that's so cool! I can't relate personally because I am a muslim and never had pork, but that doesn't mean that I should respect other peoples' gender identities.

John: Yes! That is the tolerant thing to do!
