An alternate, reclaimed definition was created. The new definition is to identify with one's birth gender, but refusing to be called cisgender, because one is transgender and/or [[non-binary]] in a way where one identifies with one's AGAB in some way, due to complexity in one's gender. Examples of this can include: [[AMAB]] [[demiboy]]s, [[genderfluid]] people who sometimes are their AGAB or have a gender relating to their AGAB. This term can also be useful for plural and [[intersex]] people.
People who genuinely identify with this term are not bad people and should not be castigated. However, the term could be seen as an excuse to be included into the community itself, or to say slurs that typically oppress the trans community.

The original definition is still the most widely known.

    The recugender flag (reclaimed definition).

Recugender or refusgender is a term where one identifies with their assigned gender at birth, but "refuses to identify as cisgender". Related terms are recugirl or recuboy. "Recu" comes from the Latin word recuso, which means "to refuse"

    Controversy with the first term

The first term is commonly seen as an excuse for cisgender people to try and be included into the transgender community, or is used by cisgender people who think cisgender is an insult or dislike being called cisgender.

    Reclaimed definition

An alternate, reclaimed definition was created. The new definition is to identify with one's birth gender, but refusing to be called cisgender, because one is transgender and/or non-binary in a way where one identifies with one's AGAB in some way, due to complexity in one's gender. Examples of this can include: AMAB demiboys, genderfluid people who sometimes are their AGAB or have a gender relating to their AGAB. This term can also be useful for plural and intersex people.

The original definition is still the most widely known.

    History

The original, troll associated term was coined by an unknown entity at an unknown date.[1] The reclaimed term was coined by Tumblr user ashix0trender0juice on Janurary 6, 2021.[2][3]
