Purrgender is a xenogender that feels very small, nimble, and over all, cat-like, while still being loosely linked to a gender expression (femininity, masculinity, androgyny, etc.) Someone who identifies as purrgender might connect their gender to fluff, whiskers, the sound of a cat meowing very softly, the sound of a cat's purring, and the sound and/or feeling of the pitter patter of cat paws. The gender also feels very restless and times, and other times very calm or even tired.

    History

The term Purrgirl (originally catgirl-gender) was made by fandom user Many gays in a trenchcoat on November 6th, 2020. The term Purrboy (originally catboygender) was made by a user going by Anamika on November 14th, 2020.

The term Purrgender was coined by a user going by Amnisty on January 12th, 2021 due to a mass deletion of pages being announced, in which they wanted to encompass a page with enough information for those who may need it. Purrnonbinary, Purrneutral, Purrandrogyne, Purragender, Purrxenic, and Purrfluid were coined at this time as well.

    Flags

The Purrgirl and Purrboy flags were made by a user going by Anamika on November 14th, 2020. The rest of the flags were coined by a user going by Amnisty on January 12th, 2021.
