Prehigender refers to any gender related to prehistoric times (times before 10,000 BC). It is usually a kingender, particularly for those whose gender is related to their kintype as a prehistoric species, but it can also be a xenogender for those who relate to the prehistoric experience rather than a specific species. It is a gender that can feel massive and old, like it’s lived a long, long time.
History
The term was coined by Tumblr user mogaiformycharacters on April 22, 2019.[1]
Flag
The prehigender, prehiboy, and prehigirl flags were all created by Tumblr user mogaiformycharacters on July 10, 2020.[2]
The alternate prehigender flag was created by Fandom user PastelGalaxy12 on April 16, 2021. The colors all represent colors used in prehistoric times.
