Potatogender has two definitions. The first is a gender that feels buried in the earth, unable to reach until it’s ready.
The second is a xenogender which someone feels a strong connection to potatoes, or just want to add them to their identity to better understand their gender. People who identify with potatogender may also feel as if potatoes are making their gender more confusing and harder to understand, or that potatoes heavily influenced their gender to get to where it was today.

The first definition was coined on December 18, 2018 by likely troll tumblr blog trans-boi-positivity-uwu. It was soon reclaimed by the MOGAI community.
The second definition was coined Fandom user noeyknight on January 2nd of 2021.
