Philandrous refers to someone who feels fondness, love, or admiration towards men. It's not necessarily an attraction to men, it is a feeling of admiration or fondness towards all of manhood.[1]
Simply respecting men does not mean one is philandrous. Being philandrous means one has a certain feeling of love and likeness towards the general idea of men, without necessarily being attracted to them in any way, though this could refer to idyllic, tutelary, or other forms of uncommon tertiary attraction.
