Passerinian is a xenogender that can have three different meanings;
- A musicagender related to the song Passerine by The Oh Hellos.
- A gender related to Passerine, the fanfiction written by thcscus on the website Archive of Our Own. It may feel royal, immortal, or connected to certain aspects of the fanfiction.
- A gender related to passerine birds. This may or may not be a kingender.
History
Passerinian was coined by FANDOM user Mercuryorhymn on May 14, 2021 on this post. It was originally created with only the first two definitions in mind, but xe decided to develop the definition further as xe created the official page for the gender on May 26, 2021.
Flag
The flag was created by FANDOM user Mercuryorhymn on May 27, 2021. The dark red on the flag is color-picked from the album that Passerine is in (Eurus), the gold on the flag was colorpicked from the album as well but is also meant to represent the golden flower symbolism in the Passerine fanfiction, and brown represents passerine birds. The white circle in the middle and the feather in the middle of said circle are also meant to represent passerine birds.
