    Obsesscoric, formerly known as yanderecoric or yancoric, is a coric aesthetigender based around the aesthetic of obsessive love typically seen in the anime and manga character archetype known as yandere.

    Etymology

    Yandere is a portmanteau of 病む or yamu, “to be sick," and デレデレ or dere-dere, “to become lovey-dovey, infatuated, lovestruck." The latinized word is also an anagram of the English word yearned.

    History and Flag

    The original term and flag on or before February 20, 2019, by Tumblr user nebualromantic.[1] Due to the controversial use of yandere characters to demonize and fetishize mental illness as well as personality disorders,[2] the term was changed to obsesscoric by FANDOM user Keterodyne on February 9, 2021.
