Novosexual is a sexual identity label describing an individual whose sexual orientation is tied to changes in their gender identity. It can be described as being simultaneously abrosexual and genderfluid, where the current sexual orientation is determined by the current gender identity.

The length of time between changes in gender and sexuality may vary for different individuals. They may happen on a consistent schedule or they may happen randomly, but the gender and sexuality will change with each other.

A novosexual individual may experience more than one gender with the same sexual orientation, and so may not always feel as if they are changing sexual orientations as they change gender.

It is possible for one to be both abrosexual and genderfluid while not being novosexual. Novosexuality only occurs when one's sexual orientation is tied with their current gender identity. If one's gender and sexuality change independently from each other, the individual is not novosexual.

The colors of the original flag mean the following:

White represents neutrality, or a time of neutral attraction.
Pink represents attraction to girls, women, feminine individuals, and feminine identities.
Blue represents attraction to boys, men, masculine individuals, and masculine identities.
The 6 others outer stripes represent many other orientations.
The rainbow heart represents the attraction spectrum.

Both alternative Novosexual flags, created by MoonJellyBuniny (aka. Buniny) was created on August 15, 2020. The colors were chosen based on both the abrosexual and genderfluid pride flags as to show the link between both fluid identities.

The flag colors correspond to the following interpretation:

Blue represents attraction and identification of masculinity.
Green represents the link between sexual orientation and gender identity.
White represents lack of attraction or gender.
Pink represents attraction and identification of femininity.
Dark purple represents attraction and identification of mixed genders or other non-binary identities.
