    The Meltigender flag
The Meltiflux flag by FANDOM User Norner-vulpix

Meltigender is a mutogender where one's gender(s) is static until exposed to certain situations - In which, their gender "melts" and becomes fluid. After being removed from said situation, their gender may "freeze" and become static again.

After "freezing", their gender may be different than it was before being fluid, or revert back to the same gender every time it becomes static. For example, after a demiboy's gender melts and refreezes, their gender may go back to being demiboy, or a different gender entirely such as bigender.

Meltiflux is a subset of meltigender, it is the fluctuating counterpart of meltigender. For example: ones gender could be female but under certain situations they may become girlish instead.

    History

Meltigender was coined by FANDOM user Ringotheman on May 16th, 2021.[1] It was originally a joke between him and his friend, however he later elaborated on the definition to create an identity for genuine usage. He coined it with the name "gendermelt"; however, that was already a term with a different definition, coined earlier by tumblr user genderheaven. The name was changed to meltigender by FANDOM User Reign of the breadsticcs for that reason.

Meltiflux was coined by Reddit user u/hiitsyaz.

    Flag

The meltigender flag was also coined by FANDOM user Ringotheman on May 27th, 2021.[2] It features blue-tinted colors from the genderfluid flag to represent fluidity. A dripping effect is present to represent the "melting" effect, as well as an ice cube made with the kymenian/genderstatic flag colors to represent the "freezing" effect.
