Masculina (pronounced: mah-skee-oo-lee-nuh) is a gender term in which someone feels as if they are masculine, but in a feminine way. Another way this can be described is where someone feels as if they are mostly masculine, but still have or feel feminine aspects about themselves and choose to keep them. Individuals who identify as masculina may each feel this gender differently from how other masculina-identifying individuals feel this gender. Masculina can be defined in various ways, including, but not limited to:
- One who was AMAB (assigned male at birth), chooses to mostly identify with the gender they were assigned at birth with, but feels as if some particular aspects of themselves may be feminine.
- One who was AFAB (assigned female at birth), has transitioned to a masculine gender, but feels as if some particular aspect of themselves is feminine.
- One who was AIAB (assigned intersex at birth) or varsex, feels as if they are mostly masculine, but also feels as if a feminine aspect of themselves is there.
- One is masculine-aligned but connected to femininity in some manner.
- One feels or is masculine but is more comfortable being perceived as feminine.
- One is genderfluid(-aligned), but mostly experiences masculine and feminine genders. There are many more ways to describe this term.
If you identify as Masculina, you have permission to add your own perception of this gender.
This may or may not be an umbrella term of bigender. Terms similar to masculina include feminino, femineu, mascuneu, neutro and neutra.
