Since loveless aros are in some way disconnected from love, while they may appear to "love" those close to them or "love" their hobbies, they do not feel that it is love but may rather be compassion, a mutual understanding, or enjoyment. They may not personally believe in, or may feel uncomfortable with, the concepts of soulmates, the red string of fate, "love is what makes us human", any other forms of inevitable love, and/or different forms of love such as platonic.

Due to the fact that "love" is usually synonymous with "romance," loveless aros are often forcibly disconnected from love due to the inability to feel romantic attraction. When others try to broaden the definition of love to be about tertiary attraction in addition to romantic attraction, loveless aros are not considered and are attempted to be put in a box that they were shoved out of and do not want to be in. Loveless aros reclaiming their disconnect from love is similar to [[Voidpunk|Voidpunks]] reclaiming their disconnect from humanity.
