Laytongender is a neurogender in which one feels the Professor Layton video game series affects their gender due to having the game as a special interest/hyperfixation, having a kintype from the games, or having an overall close connection to the games. It is described as a neurodivergent-exclusive gender associated with adventure, puzzles, being polite/kind to others, and archeology.
The term was coined by Twitter user miracIemask with the help of lastspectxr on September 1, 2020, with a thread that provided the definition of the gender, as well as the flag.
The laytongender flag has seven stripes. Deep blue represents nostalgia, purple represents puzzles, blue represents being kind to others, yellow represents being outside of the binary, light orange represents adventure, orange represents neurodivergence, and brown represents archeology.
