LGBTQIA+ Wiki:Article Guidelines

The LGBTA+ Wiki is intended to be a resource to learn about sexualities and genders, particularly those that don't have much information about them online. Before you start writing an article read this page to make sure the page is relevant, and allowed on this wiki.

After this you should read the style guide to ensure your page meets our standards for formatting.

Rules

1. Articles must follow the community guidelines.
2. Articles cannot promote hate speech, this includes anything that promotes TERF, truscum, or exclusionist ideology or anything that implies that these ideologies are legitimate. Making such articles will result in an indefinite ban.
3. Absolutely no "joke pages" or "satire pages". These pages will be treated as hate speech, regardless of intentions.
4. No pages that imply pedophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia or similar are LGBT+. These will be treated as hate speech.
5. No pages about kinks, fetishes, BDSM terms, or similar are allowed.
6. No identities that were created with the purpose of passive-aggressively complaining about another identity.
7. No pages for specific subcategories of objectum. We only allow pages for attractions to humans, humanoids, representations of humans/humanoids, or things of human-like intelligence.
8. No pages that are [specific person]sexual or [specific small group of people]sexual, real or fictional.
9. No pages that are [specific character]gender, with the definition "a connection to [character]". Unless the definition is more complex then that the page will be deleted.
10. Absolutely no pages that are [real life person]gender or [real life group of people]gender.
11. No pages for individual pronoun sets.
12. No pages for alternate spellings or alternate names of terms that already have a page, unless it's a redirect.
13. No pages specifically or a flag or an alternate flag.
14. No pages for individuals, couples, or small groups. This wiki is for identities, terminology, and occasionally large or significant groups.
15. We do not need a page for every possible combination of identities. Pages for "combination identities" (ie, demisexual bisexual, heterosexual homoromantic, etc.) are only allowed if they are a combinations of two identities. We do not allow pages for combinations of three or more identities, unless all the identities are thematically connected by having the same prefix (ie, aroace agender).
16. We do not need a page for every possible demigender. It is already stated on the demigender page that any gender can have a demigender form. Therefore, pages for specific demigenders are only allowed if: A) The gender is exceptionally well known or significant (see: demigirl, demiboy). B) The naming convention is exceptionally unusually (it does not use the demi- prefix) (see dawnian, duskian). Additionally, demigender pages should provide additional information that is not found on the demigender page and/or the page of the non-demigender version.
17. We do not need a page for every possible romantic orientation. It has already been made clear that any sexual orientation can have a romantic counterpart. Therefore, pages for romantic orientations should only be made if the identity is exceptionally well known or significant.
18. Similarly, we do not need a page for every possible specific tertiary orientation. Therefore, pages for specific tertiary orientations should only be made if the identity is exceptionally well known, significant, or uses exceptionally an common prefix.

Additional Reminders

1. You do NOT have to ask to make a page.
2. You do NOT have to personally identify as something to make a page for it. (As long as you are able to accurately understand the concept.)
3. Do not plagiarize. Do not directly copy/paste the definition from somewhere else without additions or alterations. 99% of the time it does not meet our criteria for articles.
4. If you make a page for an identity and the definition is identical to a pre-existing term then your page may be deleted.
5. A pronoun set is not a gender. Any "gender" pages that are just defined as someone who uses a given pronoun set will be deleted.
6. This is not a social media platform. Do not make a page to promote discord servers, social media accounts, or other websites.
7. You are responsible for making sure your page meets the standards listed here and in the style guide. If there are minor aspects to that are wrong it can be edited. If there are major sections that are wrong or missing, or the page is incomprehensible then it will be deleted.
