Juxera is a gender that is strongly connected to femininity, but in a different way to how women are connected to femininity. Juxera is a something separate and entirely on its own. It may be described as a gender that is feminine aligned or fingender, but is not woman aligned or fiaspec, and has no connection to womanhood.
The word juxera is used as an adjective, in the same way male and female are used, so one would say "I am juxera" not "I am a juxera".
The masculine equivalent to juxera is proxvir, and the non-binary equivalent is maverique.
History
The term juxera was coined by Tumblr user Wulfgendur in July of 2014[1]. The juxera and proxvir flags were created around the same time.
Flags
The pink and blue on the ends of the pentagon represent the “girl” and “boy” genders, while the blueish gray, navy, and purple represent the gender spectrum. The green triangle represent where the gender falls on the spectrum, which is “near girl” in the case of the juxera flag[2].
Tumblr user felix-makes-flags' alternate flag was made on July 20th, 2021. It is a lined version of the original juzera pride flag.[3]
Etymology
Jux- comes from the Latin adverb "juxta", meaning "near", and -era is a feminine noun for lady, mistress or goddess.
