Hypospadias is a trait that is very common amongst AMAB or otherwise CTM intersex variations, in which the urethra doesn't open at the usual location (the head of the penis) and instead forms on another location of the penis, such as near the testicles or within the middle of the penis.[1] In most cases they also have a variation on the agenital spectrum, commonly cryptorchidism.
Although this trait often counterparts intersex variations, it is not exclusive to intersex variations, and is not enough to classify one as intersex; however most intersex activist groups consider hypospadias an intersex variation. This trait is estimated to effect 1 in every 250 AMAB/CTM individuals.[2]
This trait may cause issues, such as urinal issues or issues with erections, however this is not always the case.
