    The heligender flag.
    An alternative heligender flag
    Alternative heligender flag.

Heligender is a xenogender that describes those whose gender is like a helicopter, free flying and masterful[1] One who is heligender may also be kingender, but that is not a requirement.[2] It also can refer to a gender based around reclaiming the attack helicopter joke, and making fun of TERFs/exclusionists.[3]

    History

Heligender was first referenced around March 4th of 2019. Within it, an anonymous user speaks of the 'attack helicopter' transphobic joke, and how it negatively encourages heli's dysphoria.[4] The alternative definition of heligender was coined by Twitter user @dirksimp on June 19th, 2020.

    Flag

The heligender flag was created by Tumblr user mogai-zone on March 4, 2019.

An alternative flag was created by Twitter user @dirksimp when they coined the gender. The stripes on this flag represent "aesthetics of childish mocking, revenge/making fun, and cishets/TERFs being mocked."

A third alternate was made by deviantart user KingpinOfMemes. The flag appears to have been made as a joke/satire.[5]
