    The Gai ‘n’ Strayt flag
    Alternate Gai ‘n’ Strayt flag

Gai ‘n’ Strayt, also known as Gay ‘n’ Straight, is an orientation for someone that feels like their attraction is straight but gay (simultaneously or not). They can be attracted to any gender. This could be because one is non-binary or because their partner/the individual they are attracted to is non-binary.

    History

Tumblr user a1ly coined the term on January 14, 2022. [1]

    Flags

Yellow and purple represent non-binary and both colours are considered opposites. This represents ‘straight’ but using shades of the same colour represents ‘gay’. The two middle lines have a bit of its opposite colour representing both gay and straight.

The alternative flag has an additional white stripe in the very middle.

    Etymology

The name was inspired by the terms gai and strayt. ‘Gay’ and ‘straight’ are used in the second name.
