The term was heavily inspired by both femme and lesbian, and had been coined on October 31st, 2021 (by somemaniac). It's purpose was to not exclude lesbians of other presentations but to help other lesbians further express their identity. Fembian and lesbian can be used spontaneously, similar to how [[A-Spec|a-spec]] identities can be used with other orientations. |
