Faunagender is a gender that is, in some way, influenced by or related to animals. Faunagender can be used as a specific term if referring to a gender is related to many animals, or is related to animals in general. Faunagender can also be used as an umbrella term for many genders that related to specific animals (such as catgender or pupgender).
Faunagenders might be related to an animal because one has a very strong connection to that animal; either strongly identifying with them or simply wanting to incorporate them into their gender to better understand their identity. Faunagender might also be metaphorically related to an animal, with one's gender having the qualities of that animal. Faunagender can be kingenders, but do not necessarily have to be.
History
Faunagender was coined by Nooklicker on or before August 26, 2014.[1] The flag was designed by pride-color-schemes on July 30, 2016.[2] The alternate flag was created by wiki user Robinary on January 3, 2021. The symbol used is from Game-icons.net.[3]
