Duosex refers to those whose internal sense of gender/sex is both male and female. One may undergo HRT, surgery, etc, to give their body the sex characteristics of both sexes. For AFAB individuals, this may include getting metoidioplasty, but no vaginectomy.

This term is exclusive to those with dysphoria.^[1]

Due to this term being coined on r/truNB (a transmedicalist subreddit associated with the denial of the existence and/or validity of non-dysphoric transgender and non-binary individuals), this term is strongly associated with harmful and exclusionist ideology.

History

The term was proposed by Reddit user Chapter-Salty on June 26, 2021.^[2] The truNB subreddit was polled, and duosex/nullsex received the most amount of votes.^[3]
