Duogamous refers to a multisexual (most commonly bisexual) person who is in a polyamorous relationship with two exclusive partners. These two partners have dissimilar or opposing genders, most commonly one of each binary gender.[1] The other two people may or may not be in a relationship with each other as well.
History
The word duogamous is mentioned in the Bisexual Manifesto in 1990.[2] Because of identity elitism, bisexuality is commonly erased by biphobes for not practicing duogamy, as if they were not truly bisexuals.
