    The demistatic flag.

Demistatic is gender descriptor used by demigender individuals to describe when the other part of their gender feels "confusing" and "unreadable," much like static. The term is not a gender itself and is only used to describe one's relationship with their gender.

    History

The term was coined by Instagram user emmy.labelle on September 13, 2020.[1]

    Flag

The flag was created by Instagram user emmy.labelle on September 13, 2020. Dark grey represents a partial connection to gender, grey represents the grey-area of identity, purple represents mystery and the mysterious nature of one's gender, and white represents gender neutrality. The purple in the flag replaces the pink for demigirls and the blue for demiboys.
