Chessgender, also known as Patterngender, Checkergender, Chessfluid, Checkerfluid or Patternfluid, is a genderfluid identity for when one's gender fluctuates in certain patterns. These patters can fluctuate as well. These patterns can also bounce back and forth, like a checker/chess pattern. The term can also be used as a kintype/gender.

History

Chessgender was coined by Tumblr user genderqueer-dream on the 26th of September, 2019. ^[1]

Flags

The first flag was created by Tumblr user genderqueer-dream on the 26th of September, 2019. It features a classic checkered pattern (black and red squares), a chess pattern (black and white squares), and a picnic blanket pattern (red and white).

The second chessgender flag has no confirmed creator, meaning, or date.
