    History

Celestegender was coined by a reddit user called u/dungeonmaster29 on the subreddit r/XenogendersAndMore, on March 26, 2021, to mean "a xenogender related to the video game Celest."

    Flag

The flag was designed by u/Dungeonmaster29 on the same day the term was coined. The hot pink and light purple stripes represent the protagonist and antagonist of Celeste, Madeline and Badeline respectivley. The light blue stripe represents Celeste Mountain. The large blue stripe represents space and Celeste's postgame, which occurs on the moon.
