Candygender is a xenogender and an aesthetigender that relates to candy in some way, whether that be through literal or metaphorical means. It has been recoined repeatedly, and defined in numerous different ways, so its definition may be presented in many variations. The first found mention of candygender did not contain a definition, making this term even more difficult to adequately define.
Some may also relate to the term candygender strictly as a gastrogender related to candy. However, this definition more closely mirrors the term candyic.
This gender is, broadly, often associated with sugar, sweetness and/or child-related themes. Its definitions include (in the order they were coined):
- A gender that can be either sweet and innocent or sour and angry.
- A gender which is sweet and fluffy. This gender is usually regarded as childish, but it doesn’t have to be. It has a dreamlike and frilly quality.
- A gender related to sweet things, bright colors, and kidcore/nostalgia.
- A gender based around sweets and candies. A gender that feels sugary and fun in nature. An alternate name for this term is sweetgender.
- A gender identity for neurodivergent people (mostly autistics and people with delusions, though any neurodivergent person can use it) that's connected to candy. Generally associated with sugar and sweetness, though it can also be bitter, rich, or any other way candy tastes. Under this definition, candygender would be considered a neurogender.
