    Caligarian is a xenogender which can be describe as a gender that relates to the things that can be found in the dark, or creatures, usually monsters, that are partially or fully obscured by darkness or fog. This gender is mostly genderless; however, it can have ties to femininity, masculinity, or nonbinaryhood. It can also be completely genderless as well.

    Caligarflux

    Caligarflux is the -flux version of caligarian, which means a person fluctuates and feels extremely gendered to not gendered at all while still relating their gender to the creatures practically obscured in darkness or fog.

    Caligarfluid

    Caligarfluid is the -fluid version of caligarian, which means a person fluctuates between fem-aligned, masc-aligned, etc while still relating their gender to the creatures found practically obstructed by darkness or fog.

    The term was coined by Discord user St1tch3x on an unknown date.

    Flag

    The flag was created by St1tch3x on June 14, 2021. It was then redesigned by Discord user mediumnRARE on August 31, 2021. The dark gradient in the background represents the creatures, the lighter greys represent the fog, and the dark strip across the flag represents the darkness covering the creatures.

    Etymology

    The prefix comes from the Latin word caligo, meaning mist, darkness, gloom, etc.
