A '''Bisexual Lesbian''' (or Bi-Lesbian for short) is someone who is on the [[Split Attraction Model (SAM)|split attraction model]], and is both [[Bisexual]] and [[Homoromantic]]. They have fluid sexual attraction to two or more genders but are only romantically attracted to women. They may find themselves sexually attracted to men, but could never picture themselves in a relationship with one, putting more emphasis on their attraction to women, though this varies from person to person. The opposite of this term would be [[Bisexual Gay]]. Another use of the term Bi-Lesbian would be [[Biromantic Lesbian]].
A '''Bisexual Lesbian''' (or Bi-Lesbian for short) is someone who is both bisexual and a lesbian. There are many reasons why someone may choose to use both labels, including but not exclusively: using the SAM, having a heavy lean in attraction towards women, reclamation of the term since the label used to be inclusive of bisexuals, and so on. There has been a wide variety of sources and information published on bisexual lesbians in recent months, most notably from the Tumblr user @bi-lesbian.<ref><nowiki>https://bi-lesbian.tumblr.com/tagged/history</nowiki></ref>

A more controversial use of the label is to describe a bisexual who isn’t on the SAM, with a lean in their attraction toward women.

Many people see the label as “contradicting” or both homophobic and biphobic. Many exclusionists (and some Inclusionists) feel that Lesbian isn’t an umbrella term, and that treating it like such hurts the community and makes it easier for cishet men to prey on Lesbians. Though this term isn’t even a new one, One of its earlier uses was documented in a poem titled Bisexual Lesbian, by Dajenya, a bisexual, multiethnic activist who was a Co-founder of Richmond Rainbow Pride and its first Board Secretary from 2015-2018. Another documented use was in a comic strip used in a book series called [https://dykestowatchoutfor.com/dtwof/ Dykes To Watch Out For], by Alison Bechdel.

A Bisexual Lesbian (or Bi-Lesbian for short) is someone who is both bisexual and a lesbian. There are many reasons why someone may choose to use both labels, including but not exclusively: using the SAM, having a heavy lean in attraction towards women, reclamation of the term since the label used to be inclusive of bisexuals, and so on. There has been a wide variety of sources and information published on bisexual lesbians in recent months, most notably from the Tumblr user @bi-lesbian.[1]

    Controversy

Alternate bi lesbian flag created by @pridewiki on Tumblr.

Many people see the label as “contradicting” or both homophobic and biphobic. Many feel that Lesbian isn’t an umbrella term, and that treating it like such hurts the community and makes it easier for cishet men to prey on Lesbians. Ultimately, however, this term isn't a new one, with much of it's history documented on a sources page created by an anonymous user.[2] The term lesbian had been an inclusive one since it's creation up until the seventies, when political lesbianism and lesbian separatism grew in popularity.
