Autoromanticism is when one experiences romantic attraction, exclusive or not, towards themself. It can occur in multiple forms as follows:
- Having a difficult time with romance coded actions with other people, but fine when carrying them out in fantasies with yourself.
- Feeling little or no attraction to others romantically but feeling attraction to yourself.
- Fantasizing about a romantic relationship with yourself.
- Feeling attraction to yourself more than what is considered "normal."
It can be a form of aromanticism when exclusive or paired with other arospec identities. The sexual counterpart to autoromantic is autosexual.

History
The term autoromantic is first found in 1971, however back then it was simply used as a playful term for a car enthusiast. The term appears again on an internet Usenet group in 2003, that time as a bit of poetic wordplay. The definition it has now notably appears on a forum on the Asexuality Visibility and Education Network (AVEN) in 2007.
