Nonaesthetic, also known as A-aesthetic, Ansthetic or Anaesthetic, is a form of attraction where one does not feel aesthetic attraction towards any gender. One can still be romantically or sexually attracted to someone (or even both), but their attraction does not revolve around one's appearance.

One may abbreviate the term anaesthetic to anae, nonae or aae; one may abbreviate the nonaesthetic spectrum to ae-spec.

    History

One of the earliest known uses of the term "aesthetic attraction" among asexuals was in 2005, on the AVEN forums. Since then it has been commonly included in lists of subtypes of attraction. It is unknown when nonaesthetic attraction was brought up.

    Flag

On June 17th, 2018, Pride-Flags on Deviantart posted an image of a Nonaesthetic Flag.

On January 12th 2021, TheEightChaosEmerald on Fandom created a second Nonaesthetic Flag. The black, grey and white colours represents Lack of Attraction. The Yellow represents Human Connection. The Pink represents Aesthetic Attraction. The shades of Maroon represents Diversity.
