    The androgen insensitivity flag.

Androgen Resistance or Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome is a rare intersex trait affecting 1/20,000 to 1/64,000 AMAB or otherwise CTM individuals, causing one to be more resistant to androgens (such as testosterone.)[1][2][3]

This can be a partial (Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome/PAIS,)[4] mild (Mild androgen Insensitivity Syndrome/MAIS,)[5] or complete resistance,[6] and generally causes reduction in masculine biological traits.

This can happen because of defects in the testicles or hypogonadism. This also can sometimes effect those with ambiguous genitalia, as they may produce little to no testosterone. In some cases, those with this variation may have vaginal traits, or may be on the agenital spectrum.[7]

This may also cause them to also fall under aromatase excess syndrome.

    Flag

The flag was coined by Pride-Flags on Deviantart, along with an anomynous user. It is made to resemble an orchid, as an orchid is a common symbol for intersex individuals.[8]
