Ambisexual is a multisexual identity and specific subset of bisexual. It refers to someone who experiences attraction to people of the same gender/similar genders and to people of a different gender/dissimilar genders.[1] It does not necessarily have to be disexual, as one could be attracted to multiple genders unlike their own and/or multiple similar genders. It could be described as ambivalence of gay and straight attractions and is sometimes described as being sexually ambiguous.[2]
History
The term was coined by an anomynous at an unknown time, and was submitted into Tumblr user pride-color-schemes account on May 31st of 2017.
Flag
The flag was coined by Tumblr user enbygsrd on on May 31st of 2017. Pink is for similar genders, blue is for opposite genders, and purple is for an overlap of both.
