Affectuix is a neurolabel where ones queer identity is affected by neurodivergencies that affect mood and state of mind. This includes anxiety disorders, mood disorders and personality disorders.
This term is exclusive to neurodivergent individuals. A similar term is neuronaic.
Examples of experiences that this term may describe are (but are not limited to):
- One becoming allosexual or hypersexual during mania
- One becoming asexual or aromantic during depressive episodes
- One becoming void of gender during depressive episodes
- One's gender rapidly changing during anxiety episodes
History and Flag
Affectuix was coined by Twitter user @mogaiastra, 22nd September 2021.[1] The affectuix flag was created by the same user on the same date, loosely inspired by the affectusexual and affectugender flags.
