Aethergender is a xenogender that is described as being wide, commanding, breathtaking and powerful. It is often associated with the vast expanse of space.
History
The term was coined by Tumblr user royalgummi and posted onto mogai-archive in 2014.
Flag
The flag was coined by an anomynous and posted on Deviantart user Pride-Flags account on September 4th of 2015. Yellow and green were chosen because they are associated with being non-binary. Grey was chosen to represent wideness as well as a lack of breath. The cutoff circle was chosen because it goes beyond the confines of the flag itself. The lighter grey represents an “aura” to go with the “commanding and powerful” parts of the definition.
Etymology
Aethergender was taken from aether which means a clear sky or the regions above the clouds.
