Xenogendercringic, also known as xenogendercringegender or xenogendercringian is a term to describe an individual whose gender is affected by or otherwise connected to the subreddit r/xenogendercringe.
Some examples of why one may identify with this gender include, but are not limited to:
- One's gender changes/fluctuates when thinking about/looking at posts from/interacting with r/xenogendercringe (in which case it may be viewed as a subset of genderfluid, genderflux and/or mutogender).
- One's gender has been affected/influenced by one's experiences with r/xenogendercringe in some way.
- One wishes to incorporate r/xenogendercringe into one's identity as a form of reclamation.
- One's gender is otherwise connected to r/xenogendercringe in some way.
Xenogendercringic was coined by Fandom user Contie, with input from Fandom user MintyTheKitty, on November 16, 2021. This gender was originally coined in the LGBTA Wiki staff team Discord server and started out as a joke, but was later coined as a real identity.
The xenogendercringic flag was created by Fandom user MintyTheKitty on November 16, 2021. Pink and orange represent xenogenders, white represents those who use this identity for reclamation purposes, red represents the subreddit's "hatred" of xenogenders, and purple represents the potential fluidity of the gender.
An alternate xenogendercringic flag was created by Reddit and r/XenogenderCircleJerk (another anti-xenogender subreddit) user BloodyMoonSystem, November 18th, 2021. It was created with xenogenderphobic and malicious intent, however the flag can still be used harmlessly.
An alternate xenogendercringic flag was created by Reddit and r/xenogendercringe user Raxx_lmao, November 19th, 2021. The orange stripe stands for Reddit, the red stripe stands for hatred of xenogenders, the slightly yellow white stripe stands for intersex, nonbinary, and androgynous genders, the purple stripe stands for possible fluidity in the gender, and pink stands for xenogenders.
