Webnomiswap refers to a person who swaps between a given set of names on the internet and a different set of names in person. For example, one could go by Janice in person, yet when on the internet they could go by Riley.
One may be webnomiswap for privacy reasons, or they may not be accepted for who they are in real life and feel safer using an alternate name (or no name at all) online.
Webnomiswap was coined by FANDOM user Uncertified Funny on May 20 of 2021, in response to the coining of webpronounswap.
The webnomiswap flag was created by Uncertifed Funny on May 20, 2021. The pink stripe represents names that are feminine in nature. White represents the barrier between online and in person. Blue represents names that are masculine in nature. Gray represents namelessness.
