Waterbendrian is a xenogender and specifically a fictigender based on the show Avatar the Last Airbender (ATLA). It is a gender where one feels related to the show's waterbenders, the concept of waterbending in relation to the show, and/or a specific waterbender character. One may also identify with the Water Tribe and not only specifically waterbending. It is not a gender simply related to water, but to waterbending, its power, aesthetics, and history. If one feels a specific connection to a waterbender character from the show then they may add the name of that character to this to make something like "Katarabendrian" or "Kataragender".
If one feels more connected to the aesthetics of waterbending, then they may use this as an aesthetigender, but it isn't explicitly an aesthetigender. Waterbendrian may or may not also be a kingender.
The earthbending/Earth Kingdom equivalent is earthbendrian, the firebending/Fire Nation equivalent is firebendrian, and the airbending/Air Nomads equivalent is airbendrian. The avatar equivalent is avatrian.
History
The term 'waterbendrian' and all its counterparts were coined by LGBTA FANDOM user Reign of the breadsticcs on March 16, 2021. They designed the flags the same day.
Flag
The colors on the flag represent the colors of traditional Water Tribe clothing and decorum, as well as the aesthetics of water. The symbol is the emblem of the Water Tribe from ATLA.
