    The thistlegender Flag
A picture showing what thistlegender might feel like. The "T" shows someone who identifies as thistlegender, and the "G" represents their gender.

Thistlegender is a xenogender in which one feels that their gender is

    • floating
    • fluffy
    • empty
    • gaseous
    • held on by a leash*

*(this is only if the person is demi-something, such as demiboy, demigirl, demifluid, etc.)

Those who identity as thistlegender do not need to feel all of those to be thistlegender, but usually they are all incorporated. Someone who identifies as thistlegender can be any gender, but if the they are any form of genderfluid, if/when they switch genders, they feel that their old gender was fake and now they are who they really are, regardless of how many times they have been either of those genders.

Someone who identifies as thistlegender might call themself a "thistlegirl," "thistleboy", "thistlefluid", or any other combination of thistlegender and another identity. One might also prefer to simply refer to their gender as "thistlegender".

When the gender feels like it's on a "leash", it can be connected anywhere on the body, but the most common places are the wrist, chest, and back. If it is not on a leash, it might feel like it is emanating from the chest/abdomen out around them.

    History

    Etymology

    The fluff of thistledown

The name "thistlegender" comes from Thistledown15's username, but it also comes from the light airiness that comes with the gender being similar to thistledown.
