Theoryromantic is an a-spec identity in which one could might be attracted to a certain gender, but is unsure due to not knowing anyone of that gender, never being in a relationship with someone of that gender, or any other reason that would prevent someone from knowing.
One can add prefixes to theoryromantic to imply the genders they might be attracted to, such as bitheoryromantic, omnitheoryromantic, polytheoryromantic, etc. The sexual counterpart is theorysexual.
History
This term was coined by an anonymous user on the LGBTA wiki on December 24th, 2020. They decided to create this term after seeing a comment that asked for theoryromantic.[1] The flag was designed by FANDOM user Reign of the breadsticcs on April 11, 2021.
Flag
The theoryromantic flag is based on the theorysexual flag by FANDOM user Victinibeing22 and uses most of their color meanings, with the yellow representing theory, the green representing the aromantic spectrum, the white representing how white is theoretically a rainbow, the grey representing feeling unsure, and the black representing voidness and confusion (instead of asexuality as in the case of the theorysexual flag).
